Liverpool are one of a number of teams interested in hijacking Roma’s move to sign Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka, according to reports.
It is believed the Reds, along with Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Tottenham, and Manchester City are all keeping tabs on the Swiss international’s situation, who could be sold for around €25m (£21.4m) this summer.
Unsurprisingly, supporters on Twitter were pretty dismissive of the rumour with many disbelieving that manager Jurgen Klopp would be interested in snapping up Xhaka:

The Swiss international undoubtedly had an excellent European Championships, captaining his team to the quarter-finals, but, from watching him over the last five years in the Premier League, fans feel he doesn’t possess the sufficient quality to play for the Reds.
A midfielder will undoubtedly be near the top of sporting director Michael Edwards’ priorities in the transfer market but it would be very surprising if Xhaka featured on a list of targets that the club are weighing up pursuing.
