Barcelona are prepared to sell former Liverpool attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho this summer for €40m (£35m) according to reports in the Catalan media.
The La Liga side are keen to free up funds to make a bid for Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland and they are willing to sacrifice both Coutinho and Antoine Griezmann.
Coutinho has struggled for form since he left the Reds in January 2018 and there has been a mixed reaction among supporters on Twitter over whether they would consider re-signing the player for his current asking price:
For that money, it would be silly not to

For that money, no way. Go for someone else.

If he wants to play back up to Curtis Jones

Yeah he was good under Klopp and the depth would be good and it would be hilarious if Liverpool made £100M on a player and got him back

That’s a steal

Not anymore. He’s 29 in the summer and for that price we can get in someone younger.

It’s usually the case that a player’s second spell at a club is rarely as successful as their first so, from that perspective, it may be best to steer clear of him.
However, manager Jurgen Klopp was able to get the best out of Coutinho, and if the Brazilian were to return to Anfield, you would think there is a good chance he’d be able to recapture his form.
Any bid from the Reds does seem to be pretty unlikely at this stage though and Arsenal are the team who have been most heavily linked with the 28-year-old in recent weeks.
