Liverpool 'closing in on deal for Polish wonderkid'

Liverpool are reportedly set to win the race for Polish wonderkid Kacper Kozlowski.

The 17-year-old has already established himself as a regular for Ekstraklasa outfit Pogon Szczecin and registered one goal and three assists from 20 league games last term.

Kozlowski’s emergence saw him rewarded with a place in Poland’s Euro 2020 squad – becoming the youngest player ever to feature at the tournament – and he was previously linked with a move to Manchester United over the summer.

However, The Mirror claims that Liverpool are set to beat their rivals as well as Bayer Leverkusen, AC Milan, RB Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg to the playmaker’s signature.

The report adds that Pogon Szczecin are expected to resist offers for Kozlowski in January, but the Reds will seek to secure his services in the summer of 2022.

Kozlowski boasts two goals and one assist from eight league games this term and is due to become a free agent in 2023.
