Liverpool, Man Utd 'made lucrative bids for Fati'

Liverpool, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain all reportedly made bids for Ansu Fati before he signed a new contract at Barcelona.

The 18-year-old has agreed a new deal to stay at the Camp Nou until 2027, with Barca inserting a €1bn (£846m) release clause.

Prior to the extension being confirmed, Fati was strongly linked with a move away from Catalonia with several of Europe’s top clubs said to be interested in him.

Now Spanish outlet COPE have revealed that Liverpool, Manchester United and PSG all made offers for the forward, which encouraged Barca to act quickly in tying him down.

The report adds that the trio of clubs all offered salaries worth double what Fati will earn at the Camp Nou.

The Spanish international became the second-youngest Barca player ever when he made his debut aged 16 years and 298 days and he has since made 48 appearances for the club, scoring 15 goals.
