Liverpool 'unlikely to make Danjuma move in summer'

Liverpool reportedly still hold an interest in Villarreal‘s Arnaut Danjuma, but they are unlikely to make a move for the winger this summer.

The 25-year-old has elevated his game to new heights since joining the Yellow Submarine from Bournemouth last summer, scoring 14 goals and providing four assists in 29 appearances across all competitions.

His latest goal proved to be the winning strike to help Unai Emery‘s men secure a slender 1-0 win against German giants Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie on Wednesday night.

According to Goal, Liverpool remain interested in signing Danjuma and view the Netherlands international as a potential replacement for Sadio Mane.

However, the report adds that Jurgen Klopp‘s side are unlikely to lodge a bid to sign the winger ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.

Should Mane leave Liverpool when his contract expires in June 2023, then the Reds may step up their interest in Danjuma.

Manchester United have also been linked with Danjuma, who is believed to have a €75m (£63m) release clause in his contract.
