“What A Player” Jose Enrique Names The Arsenal Star That He Would “Really Like” Liverpool To Sign

Ex-Liverpool defender Jose Enrique is backing his former club to challenge Manchester City if their Premier League rivals do make a move for Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka.

Pep Guardiola’s side have been tipped to step up their interest in the 20-year-old, but Enrique is hoping that isn’t the case, as he would like to see the forward make the switch to Anfield instead:

Most believe the rumour linking Saka with a transfer to City is purely agent talk anyway, and it does seem as though the England international is more likely to stay with the Gunners and sign new contract than move elsewhere.

Of course, things can change. If talks over an extension do stall in the coming weeks and months, it’s very likely that Liverpool’s recruitment team will be keeping an eye on the situation.

Mo Salah could leave when his contract expires at the end of next season and Saka may well be an option to consider as a replacement for the Egyptian.
