New Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick wants to bring Chelsea forward Timo Werner to Old Trafford, according to Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk.
The United manager signed Werner when he was at RB Leipzig in 2016, and Falk claims that he now wants to recruit the German international for a second time. It is thought that Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel’s good friendship with Rangnick will help facilitate the move:

Considering Rangnick is only in charge until the summer, it would be surprising if he had any say in who United bring in either in January or at the end of the season.
While it is thought he will influence the future direction of the club beyond his time as interim coach, surely the next permanent manager will be the one to ask about who he wants to sign?
Falk also reports that Rangnick has RB Leipzig pair Christopher Nkunku and Amadou Haidara on his radar, as well as Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, but, again, it wouldn’t be logical to give the German that much power over transfer policy.
