Rangers forward Rory Wilson is being pursued by no less than five English Premier League clubs, according to reports in the UK.

The 16-year-old has scored 40 goals at youth level for the Light Blues but he hasn’t signed a professional contract with the Scottish champions.

It means the club are vulnerable to losing Wilson to a team south of the border, with only minimal compensation due if he does decide to leave Auchenhowie this summer.

Manchester City and Manchester United appear to be the keenest on the teenager, with the two teams reportedly sending representatives to watch him in action for the Scotland U17s against the Czech Republic on Wednesday. They would have been impressed by what they saw as Wilson scored both goals in the 2-2 draw.

Liverpool, Newcastle and Leeds are also said to be keeping tabs on the forward and there are expected to be more scouts in attendance when Scotland play Germany this afternoon.
