Rangers attacking midfielder Alex Lowry scored a brace for Scotland Under 19s in the 2-1 win over Turkey yesterday.

The 18-year-old played a pivotal role as the young Scots secured a victory in their first Elite Round group fixture for the European Championships.

Supporters on Twitter were delighted to see Lowry put in another great performance and they are predicting that the teenager has a very bright future in the game:

As many fans have mentioned, Lowry’s contract is a major bone of contention. His current deal at Ibrox expires at the end of next season.

Every effort is needed to make sure that Lowry is tied down for the long term. He has already shown himself capable of stepping up to the senior setup, having scored on his debut against Sterling Albion back in January.

Manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has played him on three further occasions since then and it is clear that the player does have the potential to make it at the highest level.
