Premier League Revamp Could See Both Rangers And Celtic Joining Competition

Rangers and Celtic could be asked to join the English Premier League as part of a revamp of the competition, according to the Sun.

While plans for the European Super League appear to be dead, there is a greater willingness among the main governing bodies, UEFA and FIFA, for changes at domestic level.

It is believed the Old Firm’s involvement could help increase interest among fans worldwide and, in addition, bring in extra revenue through broadcast rights and sponsors.

The Sun report that both Rangers and Celtic would be keen on the idea, due to the huge financial benefits from being involved in the competition. However, they also say that the rest of the Scottish clubs would be willing to let the two clubs go as well.

That is very debatable, considering a lot of revenue for the rest of SPFL comes from games against the two Old Firm teams. No matter what, though, it seems there is an increasing possibility that Rangers could become part of the EPL.
