Rangers Could Snap Up Key Target For £5.5m After Latest Transfer Development

Anderlecht may consider selling Kemar Roofe, with Rangers prepared to pay €6m (£5.5m) for the striker, according to Voetbal24.be.

The Belgian website claims that the former Leeds forward has already knocked back interest from the Gers but Anderlecht may well be open to selling the player for the right amount.

Roofe moved to Belgium in a deal said to be worth €7m  last year but the global health crisis has hit football clubs hard and Voetbal24 suggest the striker’s sale could be an important “source of income” for the Belgian club.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is believed to be very keen on bringing the 27-year-old to Ibrox this summer in order to strengthen the team’s strikeforce.

The Light Blues currently have just two senior forwards in Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe, following Florian Kamberi’s departure, and Gerrard is reportedly looking to add extra firepower to his attack ahead of the new campaign.
