REPORT: Ex England International ‘Determined To Head To Rangers’ On Free Transfer

Former West Ham and West Ham midfielder Jack Wilshere is “determined to head to Rangers” according to Record.

The Portuguese newspaper claims that Valencia were interested in signing the former England international on a free transfer but, after being informed of the player’s intention to move to Scotland, the La Liga side have turned their attention to Benfica’s Julian Weigl instead.

Wilshere has been without a club since leaving West Ham at the start of last month. The 28-year-old had under a year remaining on his contract at the London Stadium but, with the midfielder not in Hammers boss David Moyes’ first-team plans, the decision was made to part ways.

Whether Record actually have any inside information regarding Wilshere’s future, it does seem doubtful, but the fact that Valencia have already opted to move targets away from the Englishman suggests that we may find out what his next destination is very soon.
