‘Top Class’ ‘A Better Forward Than Our Forward 3’ Fans Rave About Rangers Star’s Recent Form

Rangers captain James Tavernier scored the winning penalty against Dundee United at the weekend but it was his overall performance that particularly impressed fans.

The 30-year-old was the one player on the pitch constantly pushing forward to get his team on the scoresheet.

Tavernier’s display on Sunday wasn’t a one-off, though, and supporters on Twitter have been quick to recognise the fullback’s form:

The club captain does have his detractors but that’s mainly due to his far less impressive defensive qualities. In the final third of the pitch, however, he has been excellent once again this season.

Even if we take his two penalities out of the equation, Tavernier has still been involved in 15 goals, either by scoring or providing an assist. That is quite some going considering his position on the pitch.

Tavernier still has a long way to go, though, to match the incredible numbers he managed last campaign.
