Rangers are top of the Scottish Premiership table after eight matches but their performances have been rather unconvincing, to say the least.
After reaching the October international break, supporters on Twitter were asked who had been their best player of the season so far, and most fans struggled to come up with a convincing answer:
What a question that is wow

It’s certainly not all gloom and doom!
There have been some very good individual performances but no one has put together a consistent run of form to stand out.

Stephen Kelly had a solid pre season… I don’t think anyone can justify being the best so far. We have been poor but still top of the league and got a semi. Ask again at Christmas but I think Lundstrum might be our best player this season.

Nobody has consistently played well. Hagi & Aribo started well, and last three Baolgun & Lundstram have played well. No stand out performer so far.

That’s a toughie, and for all the wrong reasons unfortunately.

There could be an argument made for Filip Helander, before his knee injury, while the likes of Leon Balogun and Kemar Roofe are worthy of a mention too.
However, there is no standout candidate with many players having performed well in patches but not right across all of the games played.
It was always likely that there would be a drop-off from the incredibly high standards from last season, but it is concerning that so many players have gone off the boil at the same time.
Luckily, it hasn’t really cost the Gers in the league so far and it will be hoped they can pick up their form over the coming weeks and months.
