Garth Crooks Selects Two West Ham Stars In His ‘Team Of The Week’

BBC pundit Garth Crooks has named both Lukasz Fabianski and Andriy Yarmolenko in his Team of the Week after West Ham’s 2-1 win against Aston Villa yesterday afternoon.

Fabianski made an outstanding save from Danny Ings, while Yarmolenko scored the crucial opening goal after coming on as a substitute. The Ukrainian has been absent in recent weeks due to the ongoing events in his homeland and it was a heartwarming moment when he got on the scoresheet.

In terms of the other players who made it into Crooks’s eleven, he went with a back three including Liverpool’s Joel Matip, Wolves captain Conor Coady and Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger.

Leeds winger Raphinha, Arsenal playmaker Martin Odegaard and Brentford’s Christian Eriksen were selected in midfield, along with Yarmolenko.

Up front, Brentford’s Ivan Toney was listed, in addition to Liverpool’s January signing Luis Diaz, who scored against Brighton, whilst Manchester United Cristiano Ronaldo was also named following his hat-trick versus Tottenham.
