West Ham are in discussions about signing Stade Reims striker HugoEkitike, according to Sky Sports journalists Lyall Thomas and Dharmesh Sheth.
Reports in France had originally linked the 19-year-old with a move to the London Stadium and Thomas says that Sky have been able to confirm that formal talks are underway:
Another new one emerging this evening via @skysports_sheth and myself:#WestHam are interested in Hugo Ekitike and one source saying talks have begun. StadeReims still asking for in excess of €30m. #WHUFC #Newcastle tried earlier in the window of course: https://t.co/OzHTtF6aQx pic.twitter.com/eF7m04hU7l

While Thomas does indicate that Reims are holding out for in excess of €30m (£25m), it has been claimed that the figure may be closer to €40m (£33m). Whether the Hammers are prepared to pay that much for Ekitike, who is a relatively inexperienced player, we shall have to wait and see.
Chelsea have also scouted the France Under 21 international so the teenager is undoubtedly highly rated. His eight goals in 20 appearances so far this campaign also suggests that he could come in and do a job straight away,
Manager David Moyes has been looking to sign a backup to Michail Antonio for over a year, and it seems Ekitike is the one they have chosen to go after.
