Liverpool duo Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara are back in full training and are in contention to face Atletico Madrid tomorrow night.
Fabinho has been sidelined with a knee injury, which kept him out of the games against Manchester United, Preston North End and Brighton.
Thiago has taken much longer than expected to recover from a calf problem he sustained in the 3-0 win over Crystal Palace back in September but he is finally back available. It’s unlikely, though, he will be risked from the start against Atletico and a comeback versus West Ham on Sunday is probably more realistic.
There wasn’t such good news on Naby Keita with the Guinean international expected to be out for a number of weeks after picking up a hamstring injury against Brighton.
James Milner also has a hamstring issue, and he will not return to training before the next international break. Harvey Elliott is continuing his rehab after dislocating his ankle.
