Celtic have made extensive checks on Ferencvaros striker Ryan Mmaee, according to reports in the Scottish media.
The Moroccan, who has been capped 11 times by his country, had an impressive season in Hungary, racking up 19 goals and providing 11 assists in all competitions.
Mmaee actually played in both games against Celtic in the group stages of the Europe League, but fans on Twitter are split on whether the Hoops should be looking to recruit the forward:

Do we need another striker?

Ajeti is done at celtic
Maeda is not a striker.
Both GG and Kyogo had their injury problems and missed quite a few game. At one point we were playing Turnbull upfront. We definitely need another striker.— Kev (@celtmuppet) May 26, 2022
Playing one up front means that you are going to have a couple of unhappy strikers if you bring in another one.

I’d take him tbh. Sounds like a decent player.

I don’t think we need another striker IMO, A couple of defenders and midfielders but not a striker 🍀

At 24 years of age, Mmaee is a player that is just about to hit his prime years. After a couple of impressive seasons with Limassol in Cyprus and Ferenvaros, he also seems ready to make the step up to a bigger league.
Supporters are right to point out that manager Ange Postecoglou already has plenty of forward options available to him, with Giorgos Giakoumakis, Kyogo Furuhashi and Daizen Maeda all in the squad, but Mmaee would give him even more depth ahead of a very busy season.
