Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden’s omission from the PFA Young Player of the Year shortlist has not gone done well with supporters.
The 20-year-old was overlooked in favour of the likes of Chelsea duo Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham, as well as Manchester United‘s Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford. Fans on Twitter have questioned why PFA members have opted against Foden’s inclusion:

Foden made 33 appearances in domestic matches last season so it can’t be argued that he didn’t play enough games to be included. Even if you argue that he didn’t get enough starts, he actually was named in the starting eleven on 15 occasions by manager Pep Guardiola, excluding the Champions League.
Perhaps it is simply the case that the likes of Greenwood and Abraham garnered more attention from their fellow professionals with their goals but it does seem unfair that a player like Foden with his undoubted talent was not considered worthy enough for the award.
