Chelsea are winless in three straight Premier League games, with each of those matches ending as draws. The Blues have not won a match since the January transfer window closed and their spending spree ended.

Southampton sacked manager Nathan Jones after last weekend’s 2-1 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers. The club initially wanted to sign former Leeds manager Jesse Marsch to take over the team.

Those talks have now ended, and caretaker Ruben Selles could manage the team for the rest of the campaign. Selles will oversee the Saints’ trip to Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Chelsea are 10th in the league but just four points off the top six. Manager Graham Potter has an extremely talented team, but it hasn’t gelled yet.

The Blues are coming off a Wednesday night Champions League last-16 first-leg defeat to Borussia Dortmund 1-0. The Blues played well at times but couldn’t get the win on the night.

Potter will be without Armando Broja, Christian Pulisic, N’Golo Kante, and Edouard Mendy due to their respective injuries. Forward Raheem Sterling is likely to miss the game as well due to a knee injury.

Southampton are on a three-match losing streak ahead of the trip to west London. The Saints took a mere three points from their last six games. They were outscored 10-4 in the last six matches.

Selles will be without Juan Larios due to a groin injury. Valentino Livramento is also ruled out of the match. Kyle Walker-Peters and Alex McCarthy are both major doubts about making the squad.

Southampton shocked Chelsea earlier this season with a 2-1 win at St Mary’s Stadium. The Saints were a completely different team under the management of Ralph Hasenhuttl.
