Celtic Hoping To Beat ‘Several’ EPL Clubs To Signature Of 45K A Week Forward

Celtic are hoping to beat “several” Premier League teams to the signature of Everton forward Joshua King, according to the Scottish Sun.

The Norwegian international’s current deal at Goodison Park expires at the end of the season, and he is expected to leave after failing to convince Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti.

It was just over a year ago when King was linked with a £25m move to Manchester United, and while the Red Devils aren’t expected to reignite their interest in the 29-year-old, other English clubs are likely to be in the frame.

West Ham were one of the teams who were after the striker back in January, and they may come back in for him this summer. However, the Hoops may have an edge over their rivals if they appoint Eddie Howe as their manager.

The 43-year-old worked with King for a number of years at Bournemouth and it is believed he is very keen to see him replace Odsonne Edouard if the Frenchman leaves Celtic Park.

Whether King’s reported £45k a week salary will prove a stumbling block, we shall have to wait and see, but it seems the Norwegian is on the Scottish club’s radar.
