Celtic may have lost a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Lille last night but left-back Diego Laxalt was in seriously impressive form for the Hoops.
The thirteen tackles that the Uruguayan international made were the most that any player had managed in a Europa League game since the beginning of the 2015/16 season.
Laxalt has begun to put in some assured performances after joining from AC Milan on a season-long loan earlier this month, and fans on Twitter were quick to praise his display after yesterday’s game:
The man was outstanding

Laxalt has been more used to playing as a wingback over the past few years but he has shown that he does have the defensive capabilities if manager Neil Lennon persists with a back four.
Whether the 27-year-old will be able to keep up this level of performance for the rest of the season, we shall have to wait and see, but he has had an excellent start to his career at Celtic Park.
