Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson was not the only poor performer in the 3-2 defeat to West Ham last night, but he did come in for some serious criticism from fans after the game.
The Scotland captain completed just one of eight crosses attempted, with many supporters on Twitter believing he should be benched in favour of Kostas Tsimikas:
Robbo needs to be dropped for a bit

Either Klop like it o not Tsimikas is a better player at the Moment than Robbo. I think Robbo has had more games than any Liverpool player. He need a rest period.

For sure Robbo was poor today, and maybe we need to give him a rest. He has played consistently for about two years now.

It hurts to see as Robo is one of my favorite players but when you’re playing like that every week you have to be dropped

Tsimikas should be starting ahead of robo for real

Robbi should be our 2 choice left back. He just keeps fizzing in inaccurate crosses and is a liability in defence without Gini covering up

Tsimikas improves the players around him aswell 👍 Robertson is a disgraceful headless chicken

To be fair, the main culprit for the Reds’ defeat was Alisson Becker, who had one of his rare off nights, but there is justifiable concern about Robertson, whose overall form this season has dipped alarmingly.
The 27-year-old still continues to bomb up and down the left flank but his poor positional play in defence, combined with his poor end product in the final third, means he is costing Liverpool in both boxes.
Manager Jurgen Klopp is generally very loyal to his players. He even said before the West Ham match that he believes Robertson is the best left-back in the world, but not many would hold the same view at the moment.
