Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott could be out for up to six months, according to reports in the English media.
The teenager dislocated his ankle in a challenge with Leeds’ Pascal Struijk during the Reds’ 3-0 win at Elland Road on Sunday evening.
Supporters on Twitter did expect Elliott to be out for quite a long time, but many feel that the prognosis is not quite as bad as first feared:

Hopefully, he didn’t fracture his ankle and will be back in 3-4 months🤞 pic.twitter.com/Fhnvmn1eIc

If he’s on the pitch this spring….wow.

not ideal but could’ve been far far worse

6 months brings us into mid march kind of time. Feel so sorry for him man. You can tell klopp loves him and sees Harvey as a big part of LFC future. Harvey is a brilliant talent. Hope he comes back stronger and better. Curtis Jones will be given a chance now.

I don’t think they’ll know for sure until they go in and assess the damage. Worst come scenario might be 6mons, but let’s hope he’s back on the pitch much sooner than that 🤲 🙏

It could’ve been longer if it wasn’t for the medical staff.

It is really sad to see a player with so much promise picking up such a serious injury. While there was certainly no malicious intent from Struijk, referee Craig Pawson was right to show the red card due to the dangerous nature of the tackle.
After surgery, Elliott will have to undergo extensive rehabilitation to get back to full fitness as soon as possible and every football fan will be wishing him well in his recovery over the next few months.
