Barcelona are considering Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani as a potential replacement for Sergio Aguero, according to reports in the Catalan media.
Cavani, along with Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacazette, Manchester City‘s Raheem Sterling and Red Bull Salzburg’s Karim Adeyemi are all being looked at as transfer targets.
Supporters on Twitter have been pretty dismissive of the stories as they don’t believe United would allow Cavani to leave midway through the season:

It does seem as if the Catalan press are just throwing out names as Barca look to reinforce a key area of the pitch in the January transfer window.
With Cavani now starting to play regularly for United once again, it would be a surprise if the Uruguayan is interested in moving, especially to a team who are currently in crisis.
Barcelona currently sit ninth in La Liga, and they also struggling in their Champions League group, having already suffered a 3-0 home defeat to Bayern Munich.
