Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni has “has not yet made any decision” on his future, according to Sport.
The Catalan publication claims that Manchester United, Chelsea and Real Madrid are all “keen” on the France international but Barcelona have effectively pulled out of the race for the player’s signature due to his asking price.
It is believed that Monaco are demanding around €60m (£50m) for Tchouameni, which has effectively ended Barca’s interest in the 22-year-old. The La Liga side are now expected to pursue AC Milan’s Franck Kessie on a free transfer instead.
In terms of United, it isn’t known how far down the line they are in regards to securing the Frenchman’s signature. While signing a midfielder this summer will be a priority, decisions on new additions to the squad are expected to be left to the club’s next permanent manager.
Football Director John Murtough has spoken out today to confirm that the search for a new head coach is well underway. Erik ten Hag and Mauricio Pochettino are the two favourites to replace Ralf Rangnick but it remains to be seen whether either candidate would want to bring in Tchouameni.
