talkSPORT pundit Darren Bent believes that Chelsea should be considering a move to sign Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.
The Frenchman looks set to leave Old Trafford when his contract expires in June and Bent feels that the 28-year-old would be a good addition for their Premier League rivals, who could partner him with international teammate N’Golo Kante:
“When Paul Pogba plays alongside Kante he looks like a completely different player, if they [Chelsea] were to sign him…wow.”
It is probably unlikely that Pogba will make a move to Stamford Bridge simply because the Blues have had some run-ins with his agent, Mino Raiola, in the past. Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are thought to be the frontrunners for Pogba’s signature.
Foreign clubs have had the opportunity to speak with Pogba and his agent about a free transfer since the start of the month and it is slightly surprising that there hasn’t been more movement in terms of the player signing a pre-contract agreement.
Whatever happens, though, Pogba will be a United player until the end of the season. He is expected to return from a thigh injury pretty soon after the winter break.
