Manchester Evening News journalist Samuel Luckhurst claims Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick could be looking at RB Leipzig’s Tyler Adams as a potential addition in the January transfer window.

The Red Devils are looking to strengthen their options in the middle of the park and Luckhurst suggests Rangnick may consider the American international as a possible option:

Rangnick knows Adams well after working with him during his time as Head of Sport and Development at the Red Bull Group. After the midfielder made the switch from New York Red Bulls to RB Leipzig in 2019, Rangnick lavished praise on the player:

“I see him similarly to Joshua Kimmich, in central midfield as a six or an eight. He has now started to score and create a few goals and I see his potential as being very high. The sky is the limit.”

Adams can also play as a right-back, which is another area that United are keen to strengthen. Arsenal have also been linked with the player, though, and Leipzig will expect any team to pay his reported €40m (£34m) release clause. That figure shouldn’t, however, pose much of an issue for the Reds.
