Ajax winger Antony is “among several targets” that Manchester United have already identified ahead of the summer transfer window, according to The Times reporter Paul Hirst.

The journalist claims Erik ten Hag has held “discussions” with the Red Devils’ recruitment team and the Brazilian was one of the names that came up.

Antony has worked under ten Hag for the last two years, having been brought in from Sao Paulo in 2020, and he would solve United’s problems on the right-wing.

Hirst believes Ajax would demand at least £55m for the 22-year-old, which does correlate with other reports in recent days.

Other teams, including Liverpool and Chelsea, have also been linked with Antony but you would have to think that the player’s close connection to ten Hag would help United win the race for the winger’s signature.

Spending £55m would take a sizeable chunk out of the Manchester club’s transfer budget, with Hirst claiming that only £120m has been set aside for new recruits.
