Manchester United are considering Sporting Lisbon head coach Ruben Amorim as a possible candidate to become the club’s next permanent manager, according to reports.

The 36-year-old has already won the Portuguese title with Sporting and he is a very promising young talent, but fans on Twitter are sceptical over whether he would have the experience to take on the United hot seat:

Appointing a young manager has its benefits. They can possess new ways of thinking about the game, and the energy that could bring the best out of a talented squad of players.

However, it also has its downsides. Amorim has never coached in England, and there is no way of telling whether he could handle the pressure of managing a club the size of United.

There are other coaches out there, such as Ajax’s Erik ten Hag, who possess similar traits but have far greater experience at the highest level.
