Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard is still likely to be sold this summer, with West Ham now the leading contenders to sign him, according to reports in England.
Leicester were the heavy favourites to snap up the Frenchman, but the Foxes baulked at the striker’s £25m price tag, and have now opted to go for Red Bull Salzburg’s Patson Daka instead.
Edouard is said to be a more realistic option for West Ham than their other targets, which include the likes of Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham and Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri.
Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund are also said to be keeping tabs on the Celtic forward, but both of those teams are only likely to make a bid if they sell their strikers.
Whether West Ham will match Edouard’s asking price, we shall have to wait and see. The Hoops appear to be sticking to their guns in terms of the 23-year-old’s valuation so it could be a while before a move is finalised.
