Following Chris Wilder’s departure from Sheffield United at the weekend, the 53-year-old was immediately installed by some bookmakers as the favourite for the Celtic job.
Although the Englishman has been praised by many fans and pundits south of the border, after guiding the Blades from the third tier to the top flight, it is fair to say his stock is not as high with Hoops fans on Twitter:
This stuff scares me

Wilder certainly favours an old-fashioned approach, with a focus on defensive solidity, although it must be said he is not shy of innovation, having introduced overlapping centre-backs in a 3-5-2 system.
However, Celtic supporters are justifiably looking for a younger manager with fresh ideas. Names such as Eddie Howe and Enzo Maresca are more likely to energise the fanbase than the likes of Wilder, Steve Clarke or Roy Keane.
At the moment, no decision has been made on who will succeed Neil Lennon, with interim boss John Kennedy getting his chance to audition between now and the end of the season.
