Celtic defender Greg Taylor has come in for his fair share of criticism due to his performances in the green and white hoops this season.
The Scottish international doesn’t offer a great deal in the final third of the pitch and, with Hoops boss Neil Lennon having switched to three at the back, there is a greater emphasis on Taylor to provide more of a threat in his role as a wingback.
Supporters on Twitter have been disappointed with Taylor’s displays this season but not all think the 22-year-old has been as bad as some pundits and critics have made out:

Frustrating player, always turning back and passing inside. Would like to see Frimpong at left back, I think he’d definitely get to the byline more and does it matter if he needs to turn inside because that’s what Taylor does most of the time

If we sign someone as competition for LB then we’re not signing the right person because any LB we sign should be straight into team with no competition as Taylor is nowhere near good enough for Celtic

Taylor is effectively playing out of position at the moment. He is far more comfortable playing as a defender and if Lennon does persist with his 3-5-2 formation, the fullback will either have to add things to his game or be replaced with someone who is more capable as an attacker.
