Chelsea will have to pay €40m (£34.5m) if they want to snap up Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, according to Goal.
The 21-year-old has been tracked by the Blues’ scouting department since January and, after an excellent season in Ligue One, there is a growing possibility that they will make a formal bid in the summer.
Tchouameni only moved to Monaco from Bordeaux for €18m (£15.5m) in the 2020 January transfer window but, over the last eighteen months, his valuation has skyrocketed after some standout performances.
This campaign, the France Under 21 international has scored three goals and provided four assists in 41 appearances, helping Monaco reach the final of the French Cup, as well as to third place in the Ligue One table.
Tchouameni’s form means there are likely to be other suitors for the player, but Chelsea have done their homework on the midfielder this season, and they are expected to be in pole position for his signature.
