It is an “open race” to sign Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga before the transfer window closes, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist claims the Frenchman is available for around €35m (£30m) with Rennes keen to prevent the teenager from leaving on a free transfer next year:
There are chances for Eduardo Camavinga to leave Rennes in the final 8 days of the transfers market. He’ll not sign a new long-term deal with Rennes, so they’re open to sell Camavinga for €35m fee. ??? #transfers
It depends on the offers in the next few days. Open race.

Manchester United, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are the teams who have been mentioned as potential destinations for Camavinga but Liverpool fans on Twitter are really hoping the Reds make a move for him too:

FSG/Klopp should do everything in their power to sign camavinga , future 100m player
Also FSG/Klopp need to sign Tchouameni now , leave him on loan at Monaco this season and let him join LFC next summer , ideal future hendo replacement , sign Barella next summer also

The guy wants to stay in France as per what I read so psg are favourites. Let’s see can’t see us paying 35 mil. Would be a good addition and given he is under 21 so no need to worry about homegrown quota just yet

Camavinga could be an excellent replacement for Geoginio Wijnaldum but, while a move looks like a great one on paper, there are other factors that make the deal unlikely.
The teenager is reportedly keen on staying in France or moving to Spain so persuading him to make the switch to Merseyside would be difficult. On top of that, it’s hard to see how Liverpool could compete in terms of the wages they could offer compared to other teams.
