Liverpool have signed Steadfast FC attacking midfielder Abdul-Fatawu Issahaku, according to Ghanasoccernet.com.
The website reports that the 17-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year contract, with the Reds having gazumped Bayer Leverkusen by offering double the terms proposed by the Bundesliga side.
The claims have been disputed by the local media, but supporter on Twitter are excited by Issahaku’s potential move to Anfield:

This may well be a delicate situation. Since Brexit, English clubs are not supposed to sign players from abroad if they are below the age of 18 so if Issahaku has signed a deal, it would have to be an informal agreement rather than a binding contract.
With reports in Ghana and England seemingly at odds with each other, it may be best to treat these stories with caution. If he has agreed a transfer to Liverpool, the first we would hear of it officially is when he turns 18 next year.
