Liverpool midfielder Fabinho had to be substituted just 30 minutes into the 2-1 win against Aston Villa last night.

The Brazilian international picked up what looked like a hamstring injury, and manager Jurgen Klopp revealed after the game that the medical team will need to assess the problem ahead of the weekend.

Reports suggest that Fabinho is confident of being available for the FA Cup final against Chelsea on Saturday but muscular injuries usually need longer than a few days to recover from.

Naby Keita was clearly struggling with a groin issue during the second half at Villa Park. The Guinean suffered the injury in a robust challenge and he was still feeling the effects when he went to ground for a second time just before the final whistle. It remains to be seen if he’ll be fit for the trip to Wembley.

Andy Robertson was left out of the matchday squad yesterday evening but Klopp confirmed that the Scotland international had simply been rested.
