Liverpool are set to “go on the offensive” for Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez, according to Atleti Francia.
The Twitter account reports that they have it on good authority that the Reds will table a €40m (£34m) bid for the Spanish international “very soon” and there is a chance that the offer will be accepted:

Whether there is any truth to this story, we shall have to wait and see. Almost all of the rumours about Niguez moving to Liverpool have come from Spain, rather than from the English press, so you’d be wise to treat this latest claim with a lot of caution.
Atletico are believed to be open to selling Niguez, and they have already lined up a replacement in Udinese’s Rodrigo De Paul, but it is thought that any deal for the Argentine relies on the La Liga side freeing up funds.
The link to Liverpool could, therefore, simply be Atletico trying to drum up interest in Niguez to get him off the club’s books. Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester United have also been mentioned as potential suitors in recent weeks, along with Bayern Munich and PSG.
