Former Chelsea defender John Terry has credited Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson for helping to secure a 2-0 win against Inter Milan at the San Siro last night.
Manager Jurgen Klopp made the surprise decision to replace Fabinho with the club’s skipper on the hour mark, but the change paid off as two late goals helped the Reds secure a priceless first-leg win. Replying to a post from Henderson on Instagram, Terry praised his former England teammate:
“Jhenderson completely changed the game mate. Love it skip.”
To be honest, the criticism that Henderson has received from his own fans on social media in recent weeks has been unjustified. He has had some poor games but the number of people questioning his ability to be a regular starter for the club has been very surprising.
Again, Henderson proved his doubters wrong yesterday evening; something he has had to do on numerous occasions throughout his decade-long association with the club. It’s nice to see someone like Terry also offering his support.
