Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans is “on the list” as Liverpool consider possible replacements for Georginio Wijnaldum, according to Het Nieuwsblad.
The Belgian newspaper claims the 24-year-old is being tracked by the Reds, along with Manchester United and a number of top Spanish teams.
Tielemans has performed well for Leicester this season, having scored nine goals and provided six assists in 51 appearances. His spectacular winner against Chelsea in the FA Cup final was undoubtedly his standout moment of the campaign.
Whether the Belgian international would be a realistic signing for Liverpool, though, it is up for debate. The midfielder cost the Foxes £32m back in 2019 and he is likely to cost a fair bit more than that now.
The Reds are looking at potential alternatives with Wijnaldum leaving the club. Brighton’s Yves Bissouma, as well as the likes of Udinese’s Rodrigo Paul, AZ Alkmaar’s Teun Koopmeiners, Ajax’s Ryan Gravenberch, Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham and Rennes’ Eduardo Camavinga have all been linked in recent weeks.
