Liverpool are one of the four main contenders to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland next summer, according to Sky Germany‘s Max Behrenbeck.
The Norwegian international has been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea in recent months but Behrenbeck claims Liverpool, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are the likeliest destinations for the player.
Its believed that the Reds are actively looking for a new number nine, but Behrenbeck says part of the reason they are so keen on Haaland is that they believe it will help convince Mo Salah to stay.
While talks over a new contract are still ongoing, it is said that the Egyptian has three key demands. 1) more money, 2) more appreciation and 3) more reinforcements in terms of signings (with Haaland being a main target).
Despite having a €75m (£64m) release clause, a bid for Haaland always looked unrealistic due to his wages and agent fees, but it seems there is a slight chance something could happen now.
