Liverpool are one of a number of English clubs interested in signing Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski, according to reports in the Italian media.
Over the last week, the 27-year-old has been linked to the Reds, Manchester City and Arsenal, with the Polish international expected to be sold if a club makes an offer in the region of €40m (£34m) to €50m (£43m).
Zielinski first became a target for manager Jurgen Klopp in 2016, before he made the switch from Udinese to Napoli, and supporters on Twitter have questioned whether there is still interest in the player:

Highly doubt this is true. Would be embarrassing. Chelsea out there signing the likes of Havertz, Man Utd with Sancho and possibly adding Camavinga and Varane and we linked to these finished players.

It does seem like the press are putting two and two together and getting five. Zielinski is a talented player but the Merseyside club are very unlikely to make a sizeable bid for a player who turns 28 next year.
Were Napoli to reduce their asking price for the midfielder, things could potentially change, although there has been no indication that will happen.
