Liverpool, Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are all reportedly interested in signing PSV Eindhoven winger Cody Gakpo.
The 22-year-old could be available for as little as £35m but fans on Twitter have been questioning whether the Reds actually need someone like the Netherlands international:
Where will he even play?

Left footed attacker needed.
Raphinha or Bowen should be the primary targets.— Alisson The Great (@AlissonBTG1) March 22, 2022

As some have pointed out, Gakpo does generally play off the left flank, which isn’t a position the club are short of options in, especially after recruiting Luis Diaz from Porto in the January transfer window.
There is a possibility that Sadio Mane may leave at the end of the season, due to his contract situation, but the priority must surely be on the right-hand side of the pitch, with Mo Salah’s future also in doubt.
Players such as Leeds’ Raphinha, Ajax’s Antony and West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen have all been suggested as potential replacements for the Egyptian and they would certainly be a better fit than Gakpo in terms of what Liverpool need.
