Sevilla defender Jules Kounde put in a standout display despite his side losing 2-1 to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Super Cup yesterday evening.
Manchester City are tracking the Frenchman, who has an €80m (£73m) release clause, with Sevilla’s sporting director Monchi having confirmed that the La Liga side have already turned down one bid from a Premier League club.
Reports in Spain suggest the Citizens will make another attempt for Kounde before the transfer window shuts, and supporters on Twitter are very much behind the move:

City are working very hard on signing a centre-back. They have looked at both Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly and Atletico Madrid’s Jose Gimenez but they are unwilling to match the asking price for either player.
Whether they will trigger Kounde’s release clause, though, it remains to be seen. The 21-year-old is apparently keen on a move to the Etihad Stadium but much may depend on how much City are willing to spend on him.
