Former Manchester City player and manager Stuart Pearce believes Raheem Sterling is likely to consider a move away from the Premier League this summer.

The England international has a year left on his contract at the Etihad, but there has been no suggestion that he will put pen to paper on an extension, which may indicate he will be leaving Manchester in the coming months.

Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham have all been credited with an interest in signing Sterling but Pearce feels that the winger may be looking for a new challenge further afield:

“It’s unbelievable he’s only 27 years old with the experience and how well he’s done, both for club and country. He’ll go wherever I think he thinks his next personal challenge is. He might fancy abroad. There will be a lot of takers for him. I think he’s been sensational – he’s added goals over the last five years.”

Barcelona were interested in Sterling back in January but the Catalan club have now switched their attention to other targets. Real Madrid may consider a move now they have missed out on Kylian Mbappe, while there have been a few other clubs mentioned, such as Bayern Munich.

The 27-year-old is expected to make a final decision on his future when he returns from international duty later this month.
