Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez is among the nominees for GiveMeSport‘s Premier League Fans’ Player of the Month award for March.
The Algerian international has been nominated alongside the likes of Tottenham’s Harry Kane, Manchester United’s Dean Henderson, Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard, Chelsea’s Cesar Azpilicueta and Leicester’s Kelechi Iheanacho.
Mahrez has had an excellent month, scoring three goals in three Premier League appearances. He scored the third in the 4-1 win over Wolves, as well as getting himself a brace in the 5-2 victory against Southampton.
The 30-year-old has been given a long run in the starting lineup in recent weeks by manager Pep Guardiola. Before being benched for the last league match versus Fulham, he had started nine of the last eleven Premier League games. The Citizens picked up ten wins and just one loss during that time, with Mahrez playing a key role as the Manchester club close in on the title. You can vote for the award here.
