Manchester City’s Premier League clash against Chelsea on Saturday afternoon is expected to go ahead, according to reports in the English media.

The Citizens currently have a number of players and staff members (including Pep Guardiola) in self-isolation after testing positive for the virus, but there appears to be no danger of the weekend’s fixture being postponed.

Fans on Twitter reacted to the news by stating that City won’t go crying to the authorities about having no players, unlike some other clubs:

It does seem that City’s virus outbreak has been contained, although it must be pointed out that could change by the end of the week.

The Premier League champions have not publicly confirmed who has contracted the virus but, in addition to Guardiola, assistant manager Juanma Lillo, along with Ederson, John Stones, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish and Raheem Sterling were all absent for the Swindon match on Friday.
