Manchester United’s David De Gea has statistically saved the most goals out of any goalkeeper in the Premier League this season.
Comparing his Post Shot xG to the actual number of goals conceded by the Red Devils, De Gea has prevented 7.6 goals more than the average keeper.
Supporters on Twitter were full of compliments for De Gea but they were less happy about his teammates who have been playing in front of him:
Currently United’s best player

De Gea has outperformed the likes of Jose Sa (+6.7), Brighton’s Robert Sanchez (+2.1) and Chelsea’s Edouard Mendy (+1.7) who have also been better than their xG this season.
The fact is, though, unless United’s defence improves and they concede fewer shots on goal, there is only so much De Gea can do in terms of keeping the opposition out.
During his 17 Premier League starts, the 31-year-old has only managed to keep four clean sheets, simply because United have allowed 81 shots on target, which is only four fewer than Norwich.
