Everton forward Richarlison has hinted that he will be looking to leave Goodison Park in the coming months.
The Brazilian international did not expressly state his wish to move clubs but he did say that the Toffees do know where he stands on his future:
“I’ve already made it clear to the board. I’ve already talked to (manager Frank) Lampard too, with my agents and they know what I want. Let’s wait for June. Now I can’t talk, because when we talk about leaving a club I’m kind of like this, because of the history I have at Everton, the affection that the fans have for me. When we talk about leaving I’m a little speechless.”
The Brazilian media linked Manchester United with a move for Richarlison last month, along with Tottenham and Newcastle, while Chelsea and Arsenal have been mentioned as potential suitors more recently.
The 25-year-old’s remarks do suggest that he has asked to leave, but it is believed that Everton won’t let him go on the cheap, with reports indicating that the Merseysiders will hold out for a fee in the region of €80m (£68m).
United could certainly do with strengthening their options on the right flank but it is thought that the club’s priority is to improve the defence and midfield. With a limited budget, it remains to be seen whether there will be enough money left over to pursue Richarlison or another forward later in the summer.
