Manchester United are among the teams “closest” to snapping up Leicester playmaker Youri Tielemans ahead of the summer transfer window, according to AS.
The Madrid-based newspaper reports that the Belgian international has decided to leave the Foxes at the end of the season and, with his current deal expiring in 2023, he will be sold for between €40m (£33.5m) and €60m (£50m).
United are, however, only one of four possible destinations for Tielemans, with Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid also keen on securing the player’s signature.
AS claim that Real would be the 24-year-old’s preferred move, stating he is “waiting for a call from Madrid” but the Spanish publication do also suggest he has “many options to continue in England”.
Strengthening the midfield will be a key priority for incoming United boss Erik ten Hag, and we shall see how highly Tielemans features on the new manager’s list of transfer targets.
